The Chateau Lake Louise
As one of the most beautiful places in a country brimming with natural beauty, Banff, Alberta stands out. Set in the heart of the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, Banff is an exceptionally beautiful place to visit, especially by train. It’s hard to imagine a better summer vacation than one which provides a leisurely and comfortable journey to a destination which offers welcome relief from the summer heat and some of the most striking scenery to be found anywhere on the planet.
Given the beauty of its surroundings, Banff has long been a popular tourist destination not only in the summer, but all year round. Two of the Canada-Pacific Railway’s Grand Hotels can be found in the Banff, Alberta area: the Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise. Originally built for the comfort of well-to-do travelers on Canadian train vacations, Banff, AB’s Chateau Lake Louise and its sister hotel in the area rapidly became attractions in their own right.
Situated in the Banff National Park in Alberta, the Chateau Lake Louise is located right on the shores of the lake whose name this luxurious Grand Hotel bears. The bright green waters of the lake perennially delight visitors to the hotel and the surroundings of the Chateau are a nature lover’s dream come to life: a spectacular view of the Victoria glacier can be had from the hotel and the area abounds in opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking and canoeing.
A 1982 winterization has allowed the Chateau Lake Louise to operate through the entire year, letting visitors take advantage of the Banff area’s potential for winter sports and recreation. Whether you choose to take a Canadian train tour with Banff as your destination in the summer or winter, the Chateau Lake Louise offers accommodations with world class comfort and amenities.
There’s plenty to keep you entertained in Banff, Alberta and there’s no better way to arrive than by rail through the Canadian Rockies. The only sights more spectacular than those you’ll see along the way await you upon your arrival in Banff.
When you’re not outdoors enjoying the natural beauty of the Banff area, canoeing or ice skating on Lake Louise, the Chateau Lake Louise offers eight different options for fine dining. The hotel also has a full service spa on location and a wide range of amenities to ensure that your stay is one whose luxury you’ll always remember. Where else in the world can you relax and enjoy afternoon tea in the shadow of a glacier? This is an experience you can have only at the Chateau Lake Louise.
