I have travelled a few times on Rocky Mountaineer and also on VIA Rail's Canadian from Toronto to Vancouver. I love the relaxed nature of train travel, the camaraderie, the food! Watching the scenery in this spectacular country never gets boring. The Rockies are a particularly beautiful part of the ride, but the Prairies offer their own magical splendor with the golden hues and views as far as the eye can see!

That feeling of turning a corner or coming through a tunnel and being gobsmacked by the vistas. Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, farmland, sunsets, and wildlife!

Some travellers are concerned that they will be bored on the train, or that they won’t like the inactivity. I've found that with the commentary on Rocky Mountaineer, and the multitude of activities offered on VIA Rail, the trip went much faster than expected! I feel this is really up to the guests and their priorities. Some want views from their hotel rooms, and some say that they won’t be in their room much to worry about a view.
