Your luggage is delivered to your overnight accommodation in Kamloops, Quesnel, or Whistler, depending on your route. You'll only need to keep your medications and other essentials with you onboard.

SilverLeaf is a comfortable choice for senior travellers and those who prefer not to manage stairs on a moving train. If you have specific mobility or accessibility requirements, your Canadian Insider can help determine which service and arrangements are best suited to your needs.

Read the newspaper
I love reading the Rocky Mountaineer onboard newspaper, Mile Post. It includes maps and information on the sights at each mile marker along your train route. It's a great way to learn about upcoming points of interest.

Both SilverLeaf Service and GoldLeaf Service offer a wonderful way to experience Rocky Mountaineer, with panoramic views, comfortable seating, onboard meals, and attentive hosts. SilverLeaf is the starting service level and may suit travellers who prefer a simpler onboard experience or want to keep more of their budget for hotels, sightseeing, and other parts of their vacation. The best value depends on your budget and what matters most to you during the journey.
GoldLeaf Service offers additional features, including a bi-level dome, dedicated downstairs dining room, and large outdoor viewing platform. The GoldLeaf upgrade may be worthwhile if extra space, separate dining, and an elevated onboard experience are priorities.
There’s no wrong choice between SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf. Your Canadian Insider can help you compare the two and personalize your Rocky Mountaineer vacation around your budget, interests, and travel style.

SilverLeaf Service is available on two of the three Rocky Mountaineer routes in Canada. Both routes link Vancouver with mountain destinations in the Canadian Rockies.
On both routes, travel is strictly daylight only: guests are on the train during the day and stay in a comfortable hotel each evening. Overnight stays in gateway towns such as Kamloops are arranged as part of the itinerary.
For guests interested in a longer journey through the region, our Western Canada rail tours include SilverLeaf service on Rocky Mountaineer as well as sightseeing excursions and hotel stays in Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise.

Bring a small day bag
Since you will only be able to access your luggage at the hotels, I always suggest packing all the essentials in a small bag that you can bring onto the train. There is no overhead or under-the-seat storage, so your bag will need to be small enough to sit at your feet.
