One of my favourite things about train travel is the opportunity to see areas you would never see unless you were on the train.  The trains travel through incredible scenery that can’t be experienced or accessed in any other way, and I think that makes train travel extra special.

Upgrading to GoldLeaf on Rocky Mountaineer and/or Prestige Class on VIA Rail are both worth the splurge. If a guest is a traveller who spends most of the day out exploring and not much time in the hotel, I would recommend saving on hotels and splurging on the trains. The experience of GoldLeaf on Rocky Mountaineer and Prestige Class on VIA Rail can’t be beat. Truly spectacular experiences.

I love Quebec City, it is incredibly charming, walkable and scenic. Right on the shore of the St. Lawrence, Old Quebec City feels like you are strolling down the street of a small town in France.

The Canadian Rockies are stunning any time of year, but the Rockies have an extra bit of magic when they are covered in snow and sparkling in the winter.
