Essential Rockies by Train
Places visited: Vancouver, Kamloops, Lake Louise, Banff
Imagine gliding through some of Canada’s most stunning and remote wilderness areas, all from the comfort of a luxury train. The Journey through the Clouds, one of Rocky Mountaineer’s Canadian routes, takes travellers on an unforgettable two-day adventure from the bustling cityscape of Vancouver to the peaceful mountain retreat of Jasper (or vice versa).
The name "Journey through the Clouds"(1) is fitting: as the train climbs higher into the Rockies, the scenery transitions from lush coastal rainforests to snow-capped peaks that seem to pierce the sky. The experience offers more than just breathtaking views — it's an immersion into the tranquility of nature, paired with the elegance of luxury travel.
For over three decades, the Rocky Mountaineer has been redefining luxury train travel in Canada, creating an experience that goes far beyond simply getting from one place to another. Established in 1990, the company was founded on the idea of showcasing Canada’s most remarkable landscapes in a way that allows guests to relax and savour every moment.
